There are a few potential hazards to be aware of when using Yoogo Share EVs - mainly because of the fact they are powered by electricity.
While Yoogo Share team members carry out routine safety checks at Yoogo Share hubs, it’s best to keep an eye out for any hazards which may endanger your safety. If you see anything dodgy, please let us know by phoning us immediately on 0800 GO SHARE.
To keep yourself and others safe when collecting, driving, charging and returning Yoogo Share cars, we’ve identified a few things you should be aware of before your drive.
AT YOOGO SHARE HUBS
care Around cables
Take care when plugging and unplugging charging cables - they can be a trip hazard. To minimise the risk of injury for yourself and other drivers, please hang charging cables up tidily when you unplug it from the car, wrapping it around the cable tidy on the side of Yoogo Share charging units.
check cables for damage
There’s a lot of juice running through the charging cables into the cars. If you find a cable that’s been damaged somehow and has any wires exposed, please let us know immediately as there is a risk of electrocution. Do not handle a cable if it’s damaged.
WHILE DRIVING
remember, evs are silent
Because EVs are so quiet, extra care needs to be taken around pedestrians and cyclists who can’t see you coming. Always drive nice and slow in car parks and other areas where you’re sharing the road with pedestrians. Drive with your lights on to be extra safe.
Don’t forget the road rules
When you’re driving a Yoogo Share car always follow the road code, be alert and drive to the conditions. If you’re under the influence of alcohol or drugs, don’t even think about getting behind the wheel.
If you have an accident
Stay safe – move the car off the road if possible.

WHEN CHARGING
charging up at home
Only use Type 2 to 3-pin charging cables provided in the boot of Yoogo Share to charge up at home, and should only be plugged into safe power outlets. Use of extension cables, multi-plugs or travel adapters is a no-no - they pose a danger of electrocution,
Charging on the road
If you’re using a public charger, keep an eye out for any damage to cables or plugs that might give you a zap. Give the providers of the charging station a heads-up that something isn’t right.
